5 things to know about visiting Balandra beach.
Here we list some of the most important things to know about the world famous Balandra beach.
Shallow depth, pristine white sands, crystalline turquoise waters and the disrupting harmony of the sea and the desert, Balandra beach one of the most beautiful spots in La Baja.
Let´s go straight to the point dear readers.

1. Food!
Balandra is a Natural flora and fauna protected area, therefore there aren't restaurants. So bring your food and drinks! Maybe a fresh ceviche? no kidding! But most importantly help everyone by putting your trash away and leaving the area even better that you found it.

2. Mobilty.
Balandra is located about 25 minutes drive from La Paz and 2 and half hours away from Los Cabos. If you rent a car, it should be easy to get there by just following your GPS instructions. There are other options to get to this amazing beach like taking a shuttle from the bus station located on the Malecon for $50 pesos ($2.50 USD).

3. Pet frindly
Balandra is a pet friendly beach. Don´t forget to carry extra bags for your dog´s poop and a leash if necessary.
4. A little history.
Balandra consists of nearly 450 hectares and includes two mangrove wetlands. After a few years of battling the stablishment of resorts in the area the poeplo of La paz resisted the lure of turism and Balandra was finally declared natural protected area on November 2012.
It is home to the famous rock formation known as "El hongo" meaning "mushroom" which was restored after some turist caused this peculiar rock to collapse by trying to climb up. Balandra means "sloop".

5. What else can you do?
Balandra has 6 walking trails designed to provide a wider experience for visitors, expect to see frigate bidrs, seagull, grey herons, sea eagles, among other species. So, don´t forget to carry your hiking shoes and discover why this beach is consider among the most beautiful ones in the world.
What not do do?

- Jet skiing
- Pet are not allowed in the mangrove area
- DON´T throw out your trash.
